Cloudy privacy policy
Last updated: 14 October 2026
Cloudy is a personal assistant that Ken Luong runs for himself on his own Mac. Ken is its only user. This page explains what Cloudy does with data from Google accounts that Ken connects to it.
What Cloudy accesses
Cloudy asks Google for read-only access only:
- Gmail (
gmail.readonly): message headers, labels and, when needed, message content. - Google Calendar (
calendar.readonly): events and their details. - Google Drive (
drive.readonly): file names, metadata and, when needed, file content.
Cloudy cannot send email, change calendar events, or create, edit or delete files with these permissions.
How the data is used
Cloudy uses this data only to help Ken: answering his questions, summarising what needs his attention, and preparing briefings. It is not used for advertising, not sold, and not used to train AI models.
Where the data goes
- Stored on Ken's Mac. Cloudy keeps email metadata (senders, subjects, dates, labels) and similar metadata for calendar and Drive on Ken's own computer, and fetches message or file content from Google when it is needed. OAuth tokens are stored locally and are never shared.
- AI processing. To answer Ken, Cloudy sends relevant excerpts to an AI model provider (Anthropic) for processing, under that provider's commercial terms.
- Nobody else. Cloudy does not share Google data with any other person or company.
Google API Services User Data Policy
Cloudy's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Removing access and data
Access can be revoked at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Data Cloudy has stored is deleted by removing it from Ken's Mac.
